TESTIMONIALS

“Wonderful staff and team! My Husky broke a canine tooth leaving pulp exposed. We searched for hours on end to find a veterinary dentist who could see him ASAP. Most of the dentists in Seattle were booked out 3-6 months and didn’t seem to think this was a severe issue – root canal or pull the tooth in several months was the unanimous answer. This office was my last-ditch effort and their dentist, Dr. Lindsey, agreed to fit my dog in the same day for a consult. Dr. Lindsey was kind enough to walk me through 3 treatment plans and the details of each. She suggested a treatment called vital pulp therapy to keep the tooth alive and useable for my pup. I had read about this online, but few veterinary dentists perform this type of therapy and thought there was no way we would find someone who performed this, let alone had availability. The staff made room in the schedule to fit my dog in the next day for surgery and we breathed a huge sigh of relief. We had such a great experience with all of the staff, they even helped me partition bills appropriately for my pet insurance submissions, etc. My pup is happily adjusting to his shortened canine and was back running around the next day. I cannot recommend this veterinary team enough!”

“I volunteer in a shelter with cats and we had a sweet little girl that was having painful mouth problems. They were able to get us in in a timely manner and work with the shelter so we could get her taken care of. We were able to get in very quickly and Dr. Lindsey was so good at explaining everything they were doing and after care. I can not recommend this place enough!! They too excellent care of Sweets, even though she was just a shelter cat. They treated her with love and compassion, taking the time to go slow with her since she was very nervous. She is now back to normal, talking and demanding attention from everyone, and waiting on her forever home! Thank you so much for everything you do!”

“I can’t thank Dr. Boyd and her staff for how fast they were able to get my mini Aussie Sherman in to be seen due to an ulcer in his eye that came out of the blue. Professional, caring, and they explained Sherman’s injury to me in words that I could understand. If you need a specialist, I highly recommend them.”

“My Poseidon has excellent care, he, unfortunately, has cataracts and after going to an emergency vet for an eye ulcer we were referred here. We are glad that there is a specialty clinic close to Tacoma and Seattle is kind of hard to get to. We were lucky enough to get in very quickly and unfortunately, we had to make the decision to have his eye removed. They took excellent care of him and were really patient with all of my questions and patient with Poseidon is a handful. So now two weeks after surgery just getting the stitches removed he’s a happy camper because he can get back to playing.”

“My dog is very nervous when going to the vet, and the entire team here treats him so kindly and with so much patience. He has been treated for a corneal ulcer by Dr. Boyd, who healed his chronic ulcer and really made me and my dog comfortable and informed. I highly recommend PSVS to anyone who needs a specialist.”

“Fantastic experience from start to finish. Everyone involved in Toto’s surgery and rehabilitation was amazing. Communication with the surgeon and the vet techs etc. was so easy and their patience was outstanding. This was a serious surgery and a 10-week rehab and I was supported every inch of the way! I cannot recommend them too much!!!”

“We want to thank Dr. Rizzo, Dr. Knapp-Hoch, and the rest of the staff at PSVS for their excellent care of Miko. They did a great job of providing information to aid us in decision making and understanding the prognosis of a very rare cancer that had little known about how to treat it. They checked in regularly between appointments and responded quickly to all inquiries. And the best news is that all follow-up tests were clear! We highly recommend them for your pet’s oncology needs.”

“I am immensely grateful for the doctors and staff at Puget Sound Veterinary Specialists for all that they did for my 14-year-old dog today.”

“So, to me, this is one of the more important reviews I have done on Yelp. As with most pet parents, our animals are our family. It’s no different for me. On the outside I’m a big tough guy, when it comes to my kids, I’m a big softy. So when my 6.5yr old GSD had an injury that required surgery, I wanted to get my boy to see the docs ASAP. Well, with all of the COVID stuff affecting all aspects of our lives. It seemed as though that Veterinarians were busier than normal which made getting a quick appointment near impossible. Luckily for us, Puget Sound Veterinary Specialists being a newer facility, they weren’t as well known as some of the other well-established Vets in the area. We live on the east side of the water and finding an opening was next to impossible unless we wanted to wait 6 or more weeks. I was able to get a pre-op consultation and surgery scheduled in about two weeks. The kicker to all of this was they were anywhere from $1500 and in some cases $3000 cheaper than many of the estimates. They completed the work on Max and did a fantastic job. Dr. Collins and the staff there are some of the kindest people on the planet. I couldn’t ask for a more compassionate and attentive group to work with. I will be a lifelong customer from this point forward. From my family to those of you who work there, a simple thank you would be insufficient. Rest assured, your kindness, and professionalism have earned a loyal patron of your business as long as I have a beating heart. Thank you.”

“In late Oct. we had an emergency situation develop with our chihuahua-mix Bruno. We live in Port Townsend and he required surgery that could only be done by a specialist. Several years back, we had used Summit Veterinary Specialists in Tacoma with wonderful results for our dog. But we learned there was a “new kid” in town, Puget Sound Veterinary Specialists in Port Orchard, which was much closer to us and saved us a bridge toll. From our very first call (outstanding desk staff!) to their thorough intake questionnaire, to their terrific techs to having the wonderful Dr. Collins be our surgeon, this specialty veterinary service was just phenomenal. They are ALL about customer service & communication for the nervous pet-parent and a stress-free experience for your pet. I concur with a previous post…with COVID protocols, Bruno never shivered or shied away from going into their facility with one of their kind staff people and without me. That should tell you something. They also use Televet, a service where the doctor could see & talk to you from your home unless a visit was necessary. Good for long-distance clients like us. One always hopes your pet NEVER needs emergency surgeries, but if they do, this amazing veterinary center has our highest recommendation!”

“Dr. Rizzo, Dr. Knapp-Hoch, and their team are absolutely wonderful. We came to them under very stressful and upsetting circumstances. Their empathy, compassion, and compressive treatment approach made us feel so much better about our situation. The girls up front are super informative and accommodating. The techs were very loving and caring to our Coco baby. Overall, the office from front to back is outstanding! Thank you so much for taking such great care of our angel Coco, we appreciate each and every one of you.”

“Dr. Boyd and her team are the best. They go above and beyond. Thank you for caring for our sweet Sadie. We appreciate all your love and care.”

“Such brilliant, kind, and genuine people. The whole staff, really, I was having a bit of a rough morning and they were very accommodating. We saw Dr. Boyd who specialized in ophthalmology. My dog was hesitant for the lead to be handed off but almost immediately relaxed and started trotting away with her. I was relieved to finally know what’s been going with his eyes. I appreciated her explaining everything to me in great detail. The cost was very reasonable, too. We will return!”

“So impressed with EVERYONE! Katie, Bailey, Stephanie. Dr. Vanessa. Very professional. Kind compassionate. Informative. Patient. I can’t say enough good. Made a very hard decision a little bit easier. Thank you.”

“I really appreciate the thoroughness of Dr. Boyd’s explanations, patience in answering my questions, and being honest about Piglet’s condition and possible outcomes. In this time of COVID 19 precautions, not being able to go in with Piglet and meet the DR myself I did feel very comfortable and optimistic after talking with Dr. Boyd by phone.”

“The tech who came and got Shasta was very kind and understanding of her abilities. Dr. Boyd was very thorough in explaining Shasta’s eye conditions which both my husband and I both appreciated.”

“Fabulous professional medical care and concern from the staff on the phone to vet assist. And then the doctor. Informative, kind, and sympathetic to my concerns for my dog and his condition and quality of life. I came away with a clear understanding of the treatment options, medication instructions, and a hopeful outlook for recovery. Fabulous care, wonderful dedicated people. Thank you so much for everything.”

“Loved you, nice ladies! Beautiful practice! Dr. Boyd is great! Freeway and I felt very comfortable with our appointment and findings! Looking forward to getting his eyes fixed so he will grow up with hopefully no more issues! But we know where to come if we do have more problems! Thank you.”

“I can’t say enough about everyone in the office. Dr. Rizzo and Robyn are so kind and compassionate. Our family pet, Dakota, was diagnosed with Leukemia. Dr. Rizzo has worked diligently to make him well. I am happy to say he is in remission. I don’t think I have ever seen a doctor’s office as well as they have treated Dakota, and myself, helping me to deal with this. If you are ever in need, which I hope you don’t, please contact Puget Sound Veterinary Specialists.”

“From making Kansas feel comfortable to just the overall care we received, I was incredibly impressed. I’ve had some not so great experiences in the past with different vets, and it’s nice to finally have a place that made me feel comfortable as well. Thank you so much for caring for my baby like I do!”

“Very pleasant and informative staff. Reception area is clean and pleasant. Adequate parking. Appreciate email and text communication as well as Drs. follow-up. Hopefully this will be the last treatment for a long while.”

“You not only took care of Molly but us too! Thank you so much for the love and care you gave to Molly!! Thank you all so much!”

“Smudge and I so appreciate your kindness, awesome listening skills, time offered and compassion. Thank you.”

“Thank you so much! We really appreciated your time and expertise with Bokey. Also, thanks for being so great with our daughter, Savannah.”

“We were impressed by the entire visit. Making it as comfortable and tolerant as possible for our cat- as well with us. So much appreciated compassion.”
