We at Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency use the latest technology in medical imaging to provide timely and high-quality images.  We also consult with boarded radiologists to help us accurately interpret those images. This combination helps us make informed and effective treatment recommendations for your pet.  

Just as in human medicine, pet diagnostic services such as radiographs (X-rays) and ultrasound provide us with information that can aid in diagnosing and treating your pet’s condition. Advanced imaging plays a key role in the diagnosis of many medical problems.

Our CT Imaging Machine is officially ready for patients! If your pet has advanced imaging needs or a veterinary referral, please call our Veterinary Specialists Care Team ahead of time to ask about availability at 360-871-9651. What is a CT machine, and what can it do? CT stands for Computed Tomography. This is an advanced imaging technique that uses a series of x-rays and a computer to produce a 3-dimensional image of soft tissue or bone to detect diseases, injuries, and complex surgery planning.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

An MRI does not use radiation but instead uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create highly detailed images.  If an MRI is recommended for your pet, it’s likely to examine problems within the brain and spinal cord but occasionally it is used to diagnose knee, nerve, and other issues. A typical MRI can take over an hour and therefore, animals must undergo general anesthesia.
